Tellico Lake, The Great Smoky Mountains

Tellico Lake was created by the Tennessee Valley Authority when Tellico Dam was completed in 1979. Today the lake comprises over 15,560 acres of surface water and is a boater's dream. Plenty of room to explore and enjoy, the lake is also great for sailing. Along the shores of Tellico Lake nearby residents and vacationers will find public boat ramps, campgrounds and hiking trails. The fishing is excellent with trout and largemouth bass, plus walleye and rainbow trout.

The shoreline length is 357 miles. The average elevation is 810 feet. Tellico Lake and the other reservoirs in the chain opened the waters of North America to "Great Loop Cruising." The lake's water levels fluctuate about six feet a year.

The shoreline is mostly undeveloped, but there are a few communities that have been developed along its shores. The Ridges at Tellico Lake, a gated community at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains is one. Two models are open daily that offer spectacular mountain and lake vistas and are exquisitely furnished. These award winning homes offer up to 4,000 square feet of interior luxury and are available for fractional ownership from just $149,000.
Large estate size home sites are also available to build that dream mountain getaway.
